Your first morning on the wheel will be humbling, splashy, and completely wonderful. Here is what actually happens in a beginner session: wedging the clay to remove air, slapping it onto a centered wheel head, and learning the steady pressure that coaxes a lump into a cylinder.
Bring short nails, tied-back hair and clothes that can meet clay. We provide everything else — aprons, tools, towels and endless patience — plus a shelf where your first bowls dry before trimming week.
Most makers center reliably by week three and trim their first foot by week four. Nobody's first pot is perfect; everybody's tenth is better than they expected.
