About This Course
Four unhurried weeks at the wheel. You will learn to wedge and center clay, pull even walls, and trim a clean foot — then glaze and fire a small shelf of bowls and cups to take home.
Every session is hands-on with a teacher at your elbow. Clay, tools, glazes, firings and aprons are all included, and evening and weekend groups never seat more than eight makers.
What is covered: clay preparation and wedging, centering on the wheel, pulling cylinders and bowls, trimming and finishing, glazing basics and one kiln firing.

Month at the Wheel
How Your Four Weeks Unfold
Wedge & Center
Prepare the clay, find the middle of the wheel and raise your first cylinders with the instructor beside you.
Pull & Shape
Open, lift and curve the walls into cups and bowls, learning to read thickness by touch.
Trim & Finish
Turn leather-hard ware, carve foot rings, attach handles and sign your bases.
Glaze & Fire
Layer studio glazes on bisque ware and join firing morning — collection follows in about three weeks.
